SOME OF OUR
SAFE HOUSES

The new larger cat house situated In Scotland erected Autumn 1999

In Scotland Ivy Perry found our original small second hand houses good, but not big enough when a sick cat needed long term care: she decided to set about raising money for a tailor made safe house, with larger doors and more room as often Birmans are re-homed in pairs.

In November 1999 it was finished the total cost around £1,000, over half the money raised by Scottish cat lovers the difference funded from the Welfare & Rescue Fund.

Summer 2003 and safe houses still
being acquired.  This time in Scotland with the majority of the money raised once again by Ivy Perry and her hard working team.

Situated at, Blackford, Perthshire

September 2006 sees yet another safe house, situated further south in Wiltshire.  In the garden of Pat Williams.   Pat's husband has helped with the finishing, pictured with the first pair of rescues.

This has proved to be extremely useful in this part of the UK.  A good design and well built.  Not all Birmans are loved and looked after, so it is nice to know this sort of accommodation is ready and waiting when the need arises.

In October 2008 this safe house was re-located to the Cheshire area, this time the carers are Mr and Mrs Attley.  By December 2008 it is fully functional once again.  Here it is in the new location.

June 2008 A major expenditure in the Suffolk area, this safe house is much larger than any we have had before and can accommodate families of Birmans. Club member Julia Morton is our carer in this area.

In July this is exactly what it did.  Three Birmans were homeless when their owner suddenly died.  Thanks largely to the generosity of club members we had a sanctuary ready and waiting for them to go to.

Summer 2008 sees the purchase of a brand new larger safe house, this replaces our older ones in the Bristol area.  It is situated in Somerset with Lesley Jackson.

Early 2009 it became clear that the small 'third hand' pen at the home of Pete and Dawn Chaffe in Nottingham was just not big enough, and the Rescue desperately needed more facilities in that area.  So during the Easter break Pete was busy installing a much larger safe house relocated from Kent.  By May 2009 it was up and running.

In Autumn 2009 after a busy summer with rescues we realised the need for a safe house to serve the London and Hampshire areas. In addition to this the gap had never been bridged after the loss of our Rugby safe house.

A decision was made by the Trustees to add an additional safe house in Swindon with Pat Williams and one with Jenny Bush in Winchester, Hampshire
