A Club dedicated to all 20 colours
of the Birman Breed

The Birman Cat Club was founded in January 1969, and has  become one of the largest pedigree cat clubs in the UK.

Breeders in the Club have worked hard over many years, promoting the breed, preserving the original colours, whilst introducing the newer ones.   Their dedication and diligence has ensured today's high standards, and the Club is widely acknowledged as being the definitive voice for Birmans of all colours throughout the United Kingdom.

The Club is particularly noted for its care of all Birmans. Our Welfare and Rescue services co-ordinated by Jane Tackley on 01494 565383 and all the Area Contacts are listed on the Welfare page.

The Club stages its annual Championship Show on the first Saturday in November with some 200 of the UK's top show Birmans competing for honours, as well as some famous Birmans on exhibition in “Hall of Fame pens”.  In 2008, for the first time, the Show will be held at Rugby.

'Pet' Birmans are important to the Club, and their owners are encouraged to enter them for the unique "Pet Birman of the Year Awards" - from the comfort of their own home!   They can also enter the Club Show in the 'Fireside Exhibition' class under their pet names.

A Kitten Register is co-ordinated by Carol Tarr  (01892 653861) with area contacts throughout the UK.

Club Merchandise is available via Mail Order (Anne and Peter Madden on  01993 843163) or at our club stall at major cat shows.

Members receive one superb 100+ page Summer Magazine and a substantial Winter Newsletter - musts for Birman lovers and packed full of advice, news and articles, including details of Social Events, such as the post-show Dinner, and the  Summer Garden Parties.

To become part of this thriving club, why not apply now for membership?   Simply complete the application  form and send, with your remittance to me.   On behalf of the members, officers and committee I look forward to welcoming you!
